WHAT?

This week I am reflecting on one of my writing goals

IALT: Improve my writing by learning how to:

* use a variety of sentence starters

This week I have been focusing on how to write a drop-in clause

SO WHAT?

Here is an example of a drop-in clause

Mr Forman is our teacher.	He loves his red car.
Mr Forman, who is our teacher, loves his red car.

Mr Forman is the subject of the sentence.

We change ‘He’ to ‘who’

We place commas around the clause we ‘drop-in’

My reading goal

What?
This is the book i am currently reading, 100 Most deadliest things on the planet, as part of myreading goal which is to be able to read for longer periods of time and retaining meaning


So what?
I don't have the book now so i forgot my 2 favorite sentences.


Now what?
My goal is also to read a variety of genre. this book is Non Fiction. The next genre i am going to read is chapter and novels.

Cultural week

What?

 last week Oaklands school had  multicultural week where we celebrated the amazing range of cultures we have.

So what 

Samual'sto teach us korean stuff and games, Dania and Leah's parents came to teach us about India and did Indian henna .  I learned that henna is like an Indian tattoo and south Korea's flag standings 

Now what

 We are going to be learning more about different cultures in room 24 this term, including healthy snacks.

days of the dead (free writing)

A boy named Ethan was waking home from a movie when a shady stranger parked and said "want a ride?" "no thanks" said ethan "are you sure?" said the stranger "Get away from me!" Ethan shouted. The stranger blew a fuse and lashed out at Ethan with a bat, Ethan ran to the closest police station and had the stranger arrested but this was just the start of a nightmare.When ethan got home he sat on his bed listening to radio when his paranoid roommate adam got him to see something. "what is it i'm seeing?" asked ethan "zombies!?" adam said, ethan sniggered "news workers always try scare people with that junk". adam was petrified, "you look terrified" said ethan "lets get you to bed".

The bomb

There once was a spy called spy and spy's job was to defuse bombs but never has he defused a red blue green wired bomb (a.k.a c4 or something) he was lucky because he was colourblind to red blue and green!

The spy was reading newspapers while sipping tea when suddenly he got a call on his spy phone from the headquarters and... Oh no it's a wire bomb! He had to do do it because it was atomic (or a nuke)!

When he arrived it was guarded by soldiers that were for some reason wearing party hats?!

Chooknology Project

on term 3 we are doing a chooknology project and i'm doing the path bit. So my buddys are ralph and taylor foster. we are going to have these square pavers and shredded tyres. when the concrete is setting we put koru designs in to decorate and coloured powder to make it colourfull. the shredded tyres will go in gaps of the squares, sort of like citchen tiles exept the black tiles are shredded tyres and the white tiles have koru designs in it. we have a cardboard box for a coop and a peice of paper glued to the back that has chickens drawn on it.

Arion Farms

at the near end of term 3 me and room 8 went to arion farms. first we waited for the roll to be called. then we went to see ducks and chickens.we learned about the ears and that the colour of the eggs depend on the colour of their ears. next we went to see the sheep and goats. the owners of arion farms had a new lamb that the class got to hold. the goats were cool too. after that we saw the rabbits and guinea pigs. i got to hold a baby rabbit, pat a hair and hold a tiny guinea pig. next we saw the rats and mice. i didn't like mice so i didn't want to hold one (so did my mum but the difference was i wasn't petrified about the tails...) finally we went to see the pigs and piglets, it was crawling with hay (that i'm allergic to) so i had this heartburn feeling and i was running short of breath but i still could breathe and i wasn't in life's danger so i didn't panic. lastly we hopped onto the bus to go back to school.
